Hi,

I have just sent my application to Sydney under the Federal Skilled Worker application. I have two questions. Does anyonw have any idea how long these applications take from within Canada?

I am currently here on a temp work permit that will expire in October. I sent in an application to change conditions/extend visa in the hopes that I could get an open work permit so that I can support myself while I wait for the permanent application. I am currently employed on in a contract role but do not have an LMO.....

Maugh - Mine took 2 months from CIO - FSW class 3.  But why are you posting this in the CEC forum?

BTW - how long have you been here?  Do you qualify for the CEC class (2 years?)

Hi,

For your first question as stated above, it takes up to 3 months from the date you have sent your application.

This is my case with sydney :

For your second inquiry :

I am not sure what do you mean exactly by an open work permit ! because for your information, that kind of work permit called (open -LMO - exempted)is only given to certain categories in canada such as; post graduation work permit, accompanying dependents work permit, refugees who are waiting for their hearing sessions, sponsorship applications from within canada....etc.

However, in your case i think you mean to change your work permit to a regular work permit which requires a positive labour market opinion.

Good luck
