i just put the FN ie "B1-9" in subject line. only 2 emails i sent  didn't get answered out of i don't know how many, like 15ish since 2007. Once 1 email also did not received immediate response (within 24-48hrs), they answered 3 months later saying it got stuck and just popped in their mailbox.

Me too i put the immigration file number in the subject line, but i am talking about their reply. what did u got in the subject line ?

You're supposed to get 2 different emails, but sometimes i just received one:
1) auto response
2) "human" response

Now for this application i'd get in subject line:
1. RE: "whatever i had as initial subject" - Confirmation
2. RE: "whatever was the initial subject"

When i applied back in 2007 I had just "General enquiry"
1. "whatever i entered as initial subject" - Confirmation
2. FILE: B052516030

No matter what make sure you add this address to your address book : re-buffalo-im-enquiry  @  international.gc.ca
The answer comes from that email. Sometimes, i send my email to both. Why is there smthg wrong?

why i am 14 ? Smiley

In my case i sent several times emails, and it was human answer and in the subject line FILE: Bxxxxxxxxx (RO)  and last time FILE: Bxxxxxxxxx lh/mg

so my question was does any one knows what these letters after the file number means (RO) or lh/mg. that's it
btw they replied 2 days after i sent them.

If you are #14? Nope, according to the timeline i post weekly if there a new timeline (see page 62 of this thread for last post) you are no.1
Actually I was just jokin, trying to make u smile a bit... hope i succeeded even just a little. Smiley

Anyways, my guess is those are initials from whoever answered you. I think I might have one or two like that coming back from 1st application as FSW.

Thanks.

 @ all ,
check this out. Looks like we are not the only ones caught in this machine, except some people are clever enough to involve the media and get their problem solved in ....less than 24 hours ! May be someone may be inspired by this:

finally got a reply from Buffalo... plz see below.
"Due to the volume of applications and processing issues beyond the control of this office, processing times may be longer than those listed on the CIC website.

We cannot provide a precise estimate of when the processing of your application will be completed.  We can only assure you that we will contact you when we require information from you or have information to share.
"

Did any of you received same message from Buffalo recently?

Hi to all,
Just wondering how's everyone doing these days...
I also heard about the story of this lady on the radio this AM. It brings about some questions to my hearts that I've been debating myself and since we're all interested in getting PR. I condensed my rhetorical questions to this:

What to do? if your file can't seem to be moving for months as we see with Buffalo...if you can't make it no more financially...if you have family & friends here...if your boss gives you a really hard time and/or might even be exploiting your knowledge but you're stuck with him till PR is approuved...if you,re scared to be returning to a country (your country) but you barely knows that place now... or whatever the scenario might be, it's not what you planned and time is money like they say.

Now, you can contact someone who could push up your file. What would you do if you knew s.o. who miht know s.o...honestly... would you wait patiently folks for God to set you free on His timing or try to exit this painful process yourself?
please share your opinion, it might help me decide smthg on my case. Thanks in advance!

Well.. If you happen to know someone who can make an easy way out, I believe that's a God's will. Of course unless it's unethical.

  @  ae03yy ,

I am with wcikkk.  If you know s.o.  who can kick ass,  then you'd better go that way.  "God helps  those  who help themselves", they say.

I guess at some point, we (currently waiting applicants) would try to contact the media too. I just wonder in which way, and which media should be contacted .
But, seriously, what went wrong  with the system ??  I find it a bit hard to buy this "massive backlog" story. They were doing just fine last year, and the year before.   So, frankly , what went wrong within the last 6 months or so??

Yup I agree with wcikkk as well, as long as its ethical I don't see a problem.
