hadal, your response means you're almost over. First, by them stating "no further action is required by you at this time" implies no interview and no docx will be asked. As i said previously if you get this in reply or with AOR  only if they need more info from you they'll call u in interview or send a request for more docx. Otherwise, next they'll send ppr
When they say we are about to review your file or like you received "Your application is in queue for review." it means yours along with some more are sitting on someone's desk and they will do the final decision after looking again at whatever docs and reports they have. If the final decision is positive, they'll mail a request for passport

YOU SHOULD GET SOMETHING FROM BUFFALO.. and then fallsage and then me and match and everyone else... youpis

  @ ae03yy , my timelime is right.  However , I am not sure as to when Buffalo received my med results . 05/05/2011 is the date I got confirmation that medical information was sent to Buffalo (when I called Ottawa).  Everything else is correct.

  @  everyone,
any student who tried a "work permit".  how much time does it take, approximately ?

Nkusi. I'm applying WP right now but I was not a student in Canada. So maybe our cases are different.

Check this form about processing time and if you want to apply, apply for it online. It's much much much faster.

Hi Nkusi,

Did you study in Canada as well? Because if so then you may be eligible for the post grad work permit. I completed a 2 year masters program and got a 3 year work permit, effectively changing my status from student to worker. Take a look at this link, perhaps it may be of some help

if you need to change status from SP to WP because you graduated or are about to do so, check these links:

you can do a self-exam to know if you'd fit in, or check the criteria. There's also the link to know the docx you need to have and one to apply online (mailing it takes longer but helps buy some time on "imply status")

Now, for timeline it takes roughly 2 months for online application http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp

My timeline is correct, i have no idea if and when my medicals were received by buffalo, i did the medical when requested with the proper forms it should be all OK i assume.  I have just had to notify of them of the birth of my daughter this month, will be interesting to see what kind of effect that has on my processing time.  In theory it shouldn't affect the timeline at all (she is already canadian as her mother is a quebecois and she was born in Montreal) , but probably it will just extend my waiting period by another month or two.   At least i have someone to keep me occupied during the next months while we all wait!

 @ fallsage i did email them. I don't normally use their form. Maybe they're scared to answer me and say "no ma'am we haven't done anything yet because we're all lazy bums", that would be sooo funny.

I know the off-campus WP can do it, but I was wondering what it would take to get a (full-time) working visa from a study visa. If it is even possible.

For all those who applied for CAIPS notes, how long did it take for you to get them? I applied on April 11 and still no sign of them.

I have not received medicals or AOR it has been over 7 months now. I talked to one MP here in Montreal and he told me that they sent your medical request to old address and now it will take months to correct that mistake.

I dont like this situation and I am going to leave next month Canada now, this is not what i have planned to do while going through PR process.
