Once I get a PR , the first thing I want to do is "take a break" for 3, 4 months (put aside all the madness I am into , for lack of alternative) and try to digest all the nightmare I would have gone through. It will be like getting out of jail , just like seeing the light again after a looong, confusing  journey in dark tunnel.
I will take time to thank God for all the help , and digest the lesson that life just taught me, before really entering the Canadian society.

Thank you ae03yy for keeping us together. I don't know about the BF date, since I have never requested CAIPS. I hope we can get some thing this week.

According to their website the timeline for Quebec applicants is ~14 months. Today is exactly 11 months for me, which means that it may take another 3 months. Even if I don't get the PR request in 3 months, they can say that you were not among those 80% of applicants. So we have nothing to say, nothing to complain about!!

Relax, biochemgal09 .
You may not  have to wait that long (may be , may be not).  I got my AOR & medic in 4.5 months , instead of  7.5 monts as anticipated.  So , may be you will not have to wait the whole 14 months period .

But, just in case you have to wait for that long , my advice is this: Get an occupation (job) that you enjoy, and forget about the Buffalo. From what I read here,  what get many applicant frustrated is the way this indefinite waiting affects their immigration goals (especially career goals: doing a job you do not like indefinitely cause you have no right to switch ,  or simply having no right to work at all ,  sometimes getting abused  by  bosses who take advantage of the situation .... ). So, get something that is needed in Canada , get experience in that ... you will be accumulating expertise while waiting for Buffalo to get you on board. Otherwise , this waiting game is going may turn into a .... (I don't know how to qualify it, except this:'welcome to jail !').

folks do not look at whatever flaw is ahead plz. There were like two farmers and both were praying for rain... but only one actually prepared for it. When the rain came at last, which one you think got truly blessed? Smiley

Likewise instead of looking at how big is the mountain ahead of us and panicking thinking how much trouble it would cause and how God should remove it... Notice you really shouldn't panic but begin ascending.

I tell you there a rain ahead of us: whoever is wise will thank God who's bigger than a mountain, really and plan accordingly to move beyond that.

It's hard to keep focus friends yeah hard to keep the focus on the goal when things don't go as we expect... but we should strengthen ourselves and know it's part of life. Holding PR doesn't solve all matter we have had, it's just a step forward to blessings. At least it is what I believe!!!

Dear Nkusi and AEO,

Your words are comforting, and will help me prepare for the months to come. I currently cannot work in the US, because of the reluctance of companies and universities to sponsor my H1-B. I am on the H4 dependant visa, which does not allow me to do anything! I have finished my master's degree in Canada, and was doing P.hD, when my lab lost funding. I married my fiancé and moved to Boston 1 year ago. Had lots of job offers, but none of them worked because of my status! More than anything, I miss Montreal, my home for many years and my friends. My husband also loves Canada. I am itching to work for a while and then continue my P.hD in Canada. Now I know that being frustrated is not going to help.

Meanwhile, I will do as you guys suggested: I will find something to do that I love, which doesn't require a visa Smiley
Take up advanced french classes to improve my intermediate french,
And enjoy life in general Smiley and keep checking this forum with all you wonderful people  Smiley I am really grateful.
Thank you guys.

Until now my ECAS did not show that medical was received.

By the way, i am a green card holder too, how is that will affect me?
