Does anybody have any idea how long it will take to get PPR after medicals is received? I am hoping and wishing that I will get it by April, because, if I won't, I will have to pay international student fee, which is around $7000, instead of $1050 for summer semester! I am a bit stressed!

Just for your note..if you get your PR before April 1st you can claim the difference in tuition fees  for Fall sem.

Check with your school. AS for Concordia, April 1st is last day to claim fees difference for the Fall sem. and Dec 1st to claim fees diff. for Summer sem.

For 2011 applicants, biochemgal09 and others, pls have a look the 2010 applicant's time line from previous post below.

So give you sum up most of us did:

1. SENT APPLICATION to Buffalo : Between August - Oct 2010

2. AOR / MEDICAL Received: Between March - April (which mean it took 6 months in average for most of us) --  most of us did the medical right away (at least within a week time upon receiving the form -- and normally takes 2 weeks for the doctor to send it to Ottowa)

3. NO TRANSFER or TRANSFER Doc: Between August - September ( which mean it took 5 months average)

4. PASSPORT REQUEST: for those the file was not transfer --- between month OCT (mean 1-2 months average)
                                 for those the file was transfer to other VI -- between month NOV ( 2-3 months average)

This is just an average time line base on the list. If you are lucky enough you will get it in similar time or sooner, if not then perhaps another 1-2 months delay from that time line (like my self, even my file was not transfered to another VO, I still need to wait 2 months extra for passport request).

It will take about few months to get the AOR and one year or more to get the CSQ.
Please check other forum for CSQ, It differes from case to case and year to year. This forum is for Federal part

I'm back to my country two weeks ago, and got PPR on the day I left Canada.

I got new passport yesterday, and wanted to send it to my lawyer so that she can directly submit it to VISA office in US.

What I realize today is that sending a passport oversea is ILLEGAL.

PPR specifically said passport should be submitted within 30days, which leaves me another two weeks.

What are my options?

Should I go back to Canada just to submit passport? I'm on vacation, and was planning to go back after two or three months.

Same thing in my case too. I can acess e-cas only with the EPxxxxx number, not Bxxxxx. I don't know why though. what abt rest of the guys?

sending passport from canada to US is also overseas no?

did you ask your lawyer if sending passport by overseas mail is illegal? they should know this better.
