Hello, so finally i applied for my spouse application on Feb 12 at CIC-M. I sent my application through Canada Post Xpress with signature required. The status shows me it has been delivered successfully but i don't see any signatures of receiving it. So, i am a bit concerned whether they received it or not. Any comments people??

We are February's!!!  We just sent our outland through buffalo today and it should get there by 12 on Monday!!  it is such a relief to have our part done!  Now we just get to stress about if it was all done right and the stress of waiting .  Here's to a fast process for all of us!!

I just found out about this forum so now posting here my status.
I submitted all the additional documents they asked for my parents Sponsorship visa on Feb 9, 2012. I sent it through express post but without signature required as the CPC-M had a postal box address.
Wondering now how long it would take from now on and if anyone received any status updates from Februar 2012.

Note: As of February 6, 2012, sponsors and applicants for Permanent Residence are asked to complete both the new Application to sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344) form and the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). Sponsors and applicants are encouraged to complete the forms electronically and validate the information to generate 2D barcodes before printing. To ensure you have the most recent application forms, please use the link to the application forms.

Does this mean both applicant and sponsor need to accomplish both IMM 1344 and IMM 0008

Hey, i faced the same problem when i was ready to apply. So i called CIC-M and they told me i can submit my old forms only if they arrive before end of February. So, i submitted my old forms. However, if you want to fill the new forms. The IMM 1344 has to be completed by Sponsor only (Sponsored Spouse's signatures should be on it though) and IMM0008 has to completed by Sponsored Spouse only. Hope that answers your question.

I had some problems with filling out the IMM 0008 form on the computer. I wasn't able to answer some questions. I still validated the form, wrote the rest of the answer by hand and wrote a note on the barcode page. I wonder if anyone had the same problem. I think there were 4 questions I couldn't answer.

I had no idea about the new IMM1344. I wish they'd make these changes more prominent as it's easy to miss something like that if you've already completed the form and have no reason to look at the detailed guidance for that form again. And putting that notice far down at the bottom of the page is a bit hopeless of them. Thankfully my application arrived there before the end of February (27th Feb) so I'm hoping they will process it with the old form.

All of this is stressful and time-consuming enough without them moving the goalposts every five minutes, but if they're going to do so, you'd think they'd make it a bit more obvious.

I completely agree with you on this. The same thing happened to me.  Hopefully, my application would also be okay. It arrived in CIC-M on Feb 29.

I mailed our application over two weeks ago. I'm Canadian and my husband is Mexican. We are living in the US. I mailed USPS and they said I could track the package but they were wrong. Grr.

Yeah it's definitely a quiet thread, I do wonder if more people might show up.

I'm guessing things might pick up when the first sponsor approvals trickle through.
