Its not needed to have a monthly Inland application thread.
You do it based on year. I do believe there is already a 2012 thread so you both could post there.

Edit// Yes I was right. Here it is: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/inland-applications-2012-t90875.0.html

I like your way of thinking Cheshire Smiley By the way, I've been told that I can apply for LMO(Labour Market Opinion) while I'm in Canada. You might want to explore that option?

About the LMO...we're already looking into that, thanks!! What we need first though is a job offer from an employer willing to get the LMO, the LMO itself takes 6-8 weeks from what I'm told.
Good luck Smiley

Another thing you can do if that doesn't work, just to bide time is take a little hobby course at a local college, the CBSA guys stressed to my husband that he cannot take a course that is educational, but a hobby course is fine...it was actually quite funny, the guy suggested my husband take a 'hand basket weaving' course!!  Grin

Seems like we have our own little thread going on here  Cool LOL
What part of Canada are you in? We're in Ontario Smiley

"Seems like we have our own little thread going on here   LOL" it's funny, I was just thinking of that Smiley

I've looked into courses to see what I can do to pass the time. I'm certainly not going for a "'hand basket weaving' course" Smiley I would roll on the floor if I see a man doing that course. Smiley How silly of them to even suggest.  Roll Eyes I was thinking of going for painting course but not sure. My husband is really good at painting and he does encourage me. We will see.

I have a question regarding LMO. Friend of us told me that I can get LMO and work as a nanny. She said that it is easy to get a nanny job so I don't have to worry about finding a position soon. But I do not want to be a nanny. Now, if I apply for LMO and tell them that I will work as a nanny, will I be able to change from nannying to lets say work as an accountant or in a bank?

By the way, I'm in Alberta, Calgary. Vegreville is couple of hours away from us Smiley but it seems courier company we used taking their sweet time to deliver my application. Sad

http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/index.shtml

There is some information about Temporary Foreign workers...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

...and the basics about LMO's

LMO's are job specific so the answer to that is no, you would have to get another job offer and in turn, that employer would have to get an LMO...I couldn't do the Nanny thing and it isn't really a job where you would want to just leave as you would grow close to the children you are taking care of, and in turn they would grow close to you, but that's just my opinion. Take a read over those sites, they will tell you what kind of occupations are in need of Temporary foreign workers, and you might find something that you can do.
I haven't done a lot of research on it as I am busy during the weeks and am trying to leave that up to my husband Smiley

How did you like the winter in Alberta this year? I hear you guys got lots of snow. Here in Ontario where we are, we had one significant snowfall this whole winter so far...and for me, that sucks! I love winter  Grin

Thank you for the links I will check them soon.

You are right about nannying. It will be difficult for me to leave them as I love! kids especially babies.

My first winter isn't bad at all so far. You won't believe this but our windows and balcony doors are open and we are wearing short sleeves right now Smiley It gets a bit cold in the evenings though. Husband said it was -40 last year. So I guess I'm lucky Smiley I don't like cold much and the snow here is like dust. It snowed couple of times for one or two days maximum but the next day it started to melt. The good thing about here is there is always sun shining even when snowing which really effects me in a positive way. Smiley
