Sorry you are dealing with this. Just curious about a few things: you`re a U.S. citizen, correct? How long have you two been together? What were the pieces of evidence for the relationship that you included in the application? And referring to the cavity search: WTF? Seriously? Are we talking dental cavities or bodily orifices?

Considering our luck we are expecting an interview in addition to the first ever cavity search required for immigration.

Our last bit of info to them was acknowledged Jan 6th. They have everything we have short of the s$x tape. Which I am still not above sending.

Our issue is they don't believe the relationship is genuine. We are two little old ladies that live in her house and use mine as office/rental space. So that obviously means we are just friends and my partner is using me to get to Canada. Which is absurd as she is about to take a major lifestyle hit (me I could live in a tent and not notice).

We ended up having to send proof that we were established individuals before we common-lawed up and didn't have debt to combine or create other than mortgages that would have cost $1000's to combine for absolutely no benefit.

So while I can see why we are a bit different but we are still aggravated it is taking this long. Plus we are showing the house we live in on Saturday. Would be nice to head straight to Canada if we do sell it.

UURRGGG this is driving me nuts. Really glad I have you all to share this process with. It does help not to be in a vacuum.

Point, thank heavens for small mercies. I guess we can start bugging Buffalo again Mar 6th. Our medicals are expired now so we wait to see if they want another.

Honestly, the whole process is too depressing but you just have to hang in there. As for medical expiring, there is possibles it can be extended or you can even get your PR before Mar 6th bcos IO's are unpredictable.

I am a Canadian and my SO is an American. We met 5 years ago this coming Wednesday. But for the first 1.5 years I couldn't do anything about it other than some harmless stalking because she was the sister of a client and also a client of the firm I contracted too.

Once I stopped my contract job I pursued her with a vengeance. I had all but given up and was making plans to move to England when she came to her senses as I like to call it. So we have been common-law for 2.5 years now.

We sent the VO our car titles, LLC documents, mortgages, trust documents and utilities accounts and anything pre-dated the relationship. Plus more email, telephone, text, etc. We had also had done our wills and joined more finances but that waited until she had retired.

We were very quiet about our relationship to her acquaintances and workmates as we both do church work and she could have lost her job. We live in Louisiana and there is are large amount of homophobia and she is at the top end of the social scale here and her crowd is nuts. My family and friends have know for years.  And some in fact helped me in my stalking endeavors (kids don't try this at home).

Sorry you are dealing with this. Just curious about a few things: you`re a U.S. citizen, correct? How long have you two been together? Hey Feb 2011 folks!!

I'm still here and congrats to everyone who has received their COPR.  I'm optimistic that i'll hear good news soon!

My husband's application is still "in process".  His meds have expired. Nothing happened during my last bring forward date in Dec. however my MP has been helpful and was able to tell me that background checks are still going on.  I have ordered CAIPS to see if I can figure out what is causing the delay.

Fingers and toes crossed!

Hey maya2011!  Seems there's a few of us still lingering about the place!  Well, for me I know my office has a slow timeline (16 months) but yourself and a couple others going through Buffalo have really gotten the short straw from usually timelier offices!  I hope the notes tell you something concrete and your husband's processing makes measurable progress soon!

Meh, unpredictable I can deal with.  It's the complete and utter lack of communication that's driving me nuts.  I am considering this a lesson on why relationships break down when there is a lack of communication.   Roll Eyes
