Yes, but that extra time would be added on to the average processing time of 11 months, not subtracted from it.  I think the medicals are extended for Inland applicants, I don't know of it being done for Outland applicants.

As long as you are in Canada working or as a visitor there suppose to extend them.I was told this by the MP this morning.

Hmm, well, OP 15 says the extension of the medical validity is under exceptional circumstances, and only at the recommendation of the regional medical officer if such a request is made.   I guess if you have been in Canada all this time, perhaps there will be no issues with such an extension if they decide to apply one to your application.  Buffalo just needs to get off their duff, some applications for Dec 2010 to Feb 2011 are really getting a raw deal from them.

You've been there almost a year then, did you apply to extend your status or did you receive a visitor's record on entry for the total period so far?  If either of those things applies, your information should be somewhere with CBSA, I imagine.

Ive been here on a work visa since March.I just looked at my passport and they didnt stamp it last October when my wife and I drove thru so they had no record of me comeing thru.I talked to my friend who works in immigration and she said to fax all my bank statements to my MP and they can fax those to Buffalo as proof since they show all my transaction of traveling here and my spendings In Canada dated back to last October. She said that Buffalo will except that and request Ottawa to extend the medicals.

There you go then!  Get on it!  Hoping it works to the best for you guys, so you don't need the additional expense of the med re-do, and maybe things can be finalised soon. Smiley

My application was approved on October 20. It was an outland application. My medicals were due on Sept. 23. They extended! It is possible!

Could be a few days, could be weeks.  I hope you hear soon.  Tell your husband to keep his phone glued to his palm!
