Huy guys! Is my first day in the forum, we have been by our own all this months, but finally we found this forum to shear our experiences and see what is going on with people under the same stress! seeing how other people is getting successful applications makes me feel so much better!

We send our application on january 2, and that was received on february 4th, my husband was found eligible on March 4th and my application was received at visa office in Mexico on March 9th. Im still waiting to hear about them, nothing yet, but Im so hopping that everything is complete, I made sure that we sent everything but we will see.

Im actually suffering another process while this one, and it is my refugee claim, which was already rejected and I just took the decision to stay and do a PRRA, which probably will make my sponsorship application a little harder but at least will give the chance to stay a little longer with my partner, is not a good moment to leave the country and leave him by him self.

I wish there is somebody on the same situation of refugee claim since this changes everythingggg!! and I would love to hear about more people suffering this, and specially if this is trough Mexico visa office.

Well, I am happy for the New Delhi applicants, it seems their office is blazing through the applications.  I find it hard to believe applicants can be approved in under 90 days for some people, while others are looking at months more of waiting.  There's a disconnect and imbalance somewhere, I'm just saying.

My co-worker 's fiance got approved for her PR after 3.5 months. They did outland via London.

It's great to see that some visa offices are really ploughing through the apps (New Delhi partic), all I need now is for London to do the same - but somehow with all the bank holidays we've had this month, I'm highly doubting it'll happen before May now.

Anyone got any response from the London office yet? I applied to CHC-M on 9th Feb and my application & medicals were received on March 17th and I've not heard anything since. I know it can take a while but my nerves are shot at the minute!! If anyone has any news, please share...

It's me in same situation. I applied through London office. They received my files/medical results one day before you - 16th March. But my destination is Quebec, so I was waiting for my CSQ during this month. Finally, I got it. As I remeber, London office sent me a notice around end of March to ask about the CSQ. And that's all so far I know. Hmm, they also added my address on ecas. Hope to receive some news in May.

Can I ask about the time duration they put in the visa? I am wondering if they count 6 months for landing preparation from the day they paste the visa on our passport, or from the day they request passports? or even earlier, the day they issue decision from their offices?

I hope that I can have 6 months in advance to prepare for my move, otherwise, culture shock is not fun at all!

I may be wrong on this, but as far as I'm aware the visa expiry date is a year from the date you had your medicals done and not a fixed 6 months. This is what I was lead to believe at least...

However you don't necessarily have to stay in Canada when you first arrive, you can just get to the Canadian border and activate your PR before coming home if you choose, so long as that happens before medicals have expired. Sometimes you don't get very long before the medicals are up, I've heard of people having a week between getting their passports back with the visa and their medicals expiring. Bit close for comfort

I'm in the same situation as you....I'm sponsoring my partner and our application and medical results was received in London on March 17. The only communication we've had is the letter from CHC-M confirming that I have been approved as a sponsor. Anxiously waiting for an email/letter from them or an update on ECAS to confirm they are processing the application as the current status simply says 'Application Received'.

Congrats to all who are getting your PR's you don't know how lucky you are, we are still waiting and trying to sort out if I was able to sponsor our application was received Feb 24! no news and a whole lot of confusion with Ecas, also in Guatemala recovering from birth and I can't call the call center! Wish our processing times were days not months, or years! (Here the Guatemala office 80% are completed in 18 months!!) yup Canadian immigration surely has its faults and having such discrepancies in processing times is one of them! bugger!
hoping for hubby to get something in the mail today supposedly something was sent out march 24! FINGERS CROSSED for all of us still at the beginning of the waiting game!

Question for those with interview requests.

Did you receive a letter in the mail?

B/c at this point we only see an update on ecas for an interview, there have been no other details regarding the interview and it is set for next week.  Not sure what to do.  My partner will have to make travel arrangements asap but not sure if he should or not and if he needs to bring a letter with him.

Any advise???

Well I just heard from my husband that he got a phone call from the embassy informing him he has an interview in two weeks....just to be there ontime and a letter was mailed with all the details. So here is to hoping a letter actually shows up considering my initial approval is nowhere to be found :-)

Congrats New Delhi Folks!

We got our PPR today They sent it April 12th, took 2 weeks to arrive at my wife's house. Wow 

Anyway, some questions:

1) They have my wife's email address wrong, have you guys received anything via email throughout the process? I'm wondering if we've missed anything. We're planning to send them an email to correct it

2) This might be a Manila specific question. But I assume sending the passport and additional documents requested via Fedex is fine?

3) It's asking for an Original NSO Advisory on Marriages. Anyone know what this is specifically? We got married in Canada, gave them our official marriage certificate there and also included the CENOMAR from Manila that stated she's never been married in Manila before. Any idea what I'd have to send for the NSO Advisory on Marriages?
