I read someone posted about there being a "new system" that was implemented this spring? Can someone tell me more about it and what the deal is? Could it be why some of our applications are going slower than molasses?
Hi, Have you been on the thread for outland Buffalo applicants yet? There is a lot more information there regarding this. My understanding is that they implemented a new system in Buffalo some time in March. Since your e-CAS showed that your application was received in Buffalo quite soon after it was sent, it appears you are in the new system. As far as I understand and someone can correct me if I am wrong, there was a different process to receiving AOR prior to this system and applicants would often not receive an AOR for several weeks. So you know that Buffalo received your application at least but the next step is for it to be in process when you receive a letter or email or your e-CAS changes to reflect that it is in process. We noticed that our e-CAS changed to in process on June 10th and we just received PPR on June 22nd, so after hearing nothing for awhile, things can actually happen very quickly. Our e-CAS had previously shown that the application was received in Buffalo on April 9th. One member of this forum, Sparkle, has created a spreadsheet showing Buffalo timelines and you can see by looking at it that you are definitely not the only one who is waiting. There are many from Dec/Jan/Feb who seem to be caught between the change of systems and have not heard anything either, which is very unfortunate! I'm glad for everyone else (congrats btw  ), but it's just so discouraging to see people who applied after me who've already seen movement! Makes me nervous that there's something wrong with my file.  |

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! MY HUSBAND RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE VISA OFFICE THIS MORNING. THE LADY WAS NICE TO HIM. SHE ASKED HIM LOTS OF QUESTIONS ON THE PHONE. SHE SAID TO HIM TO COME TO THE VISA OFFICE TOMORROW TO BRING MORE PICTURES AND MORE EMAILS. HE TOLD HER I WAS ARRIVING NEXT WEEK TO SPEND MY VACATION WITH HIM. SHE TOLD HIM THAT I SHOULD PAY FOR VISA AND HE WILL COME WITH ME IN CANADA. I AM CRYING. CRYING OF JOY! IT TOOK LESS THAN 3 MONTHS!!!!

Hej everyone!!
I am so worried now that I need to post here if anyone can help me.
I applied in February, and my ecas was "in process" somewhere late in May. I applied through London, as non-UK applicants. When I started to see many people through London got passport request, I was worried if sth wrong with my case. So yesterday I sent them an email to ask. Surprisingly, they replied that my Landing fee is still outstanding and they did send me an email on May 26 about this issue! How come I didnt receive anything? I dig up all my mail box, junk mails, spams, and nothing from CIC!
Anyway, any of you can kindly advise me if I am too late? We are travelling now and can only do the payment after Thursday when my husband is back home. How long is the time frame to pay the landing fee? And how to pay it? Thanks so much for any help! I am very anxious now!!!

They usually give you 45-60 days after such a request to fulfill it.

It is 4:30 am here and my husband just called me. He had to wait 2 hours at the visa office (Rabat, Morocco) before he could give the officer more pictures of us, copies of our emails and msn chats. They told him they are going to examine our file and will call him in 25 days to let him know if they accept him or not. If they accept him, they will let him know if he has to pass the interview or not. I will still be in Morocco when they are going to call him. In the meantime, I have to pay for the visa and fax them the receipt. Now I am sick with worries. We are again facing the unknown.
