hello,
just want to ask from you ideas regarding your application,i am being sponsored by my wife in Canada and i am here in Qatar working(iam from the Philippines) last december 19,2010 i sent my pr application to Abu Dhabi but untill now i still did not receive any ACKNOWLEDGEMENT RECEIPT from them i am little bet worried about my papers,i sent it by FEDEX here in QAtar.

hi hgg, Is your wife in Canada? If so, then she must send the whole application pkg to CPC-Missisauga and they would frwd it to Abu Dhabi after Stage 1 of the process. If I am understanding correctly u sent it to Abu Dhabi directly? |

@ Challenger, Congrats to you...and hope to hear u and coolananda gettin PPR soon too inshallah  !! Till now no updates 4 me @ ecas.....guess will hear something from them next week only coz its almost 12:15 in India and Lazy Delhi works only until 1pm on Fridays   !! Anywayss what took them so long to trsf the file. I mean coolanada's file got trsf within 4days aft sponsorship approval and other ND members who applied b4 him....i guess took them less den a week or so. I don't understand wat they do all day long.......arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, uff yeah "Holi" ko bhi abhi aana tha...whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ummmmm........... I am out of here for now huh! hey dont worry buddy, u will also get somthing very soon. remember last time, our ecas activated on same day almost same time...i even dont know why it took 14 days to reach delhi.... |

Correct me if I am wrong, you sent the application in Abu Dhabi first? If this is the case, I think there might be some discrepancies there. It should be processed in CPC-M and then after 37 days they will transfer it to Abu Dhabi or Manila (which ever visa office you chose to have your application processed). The first stage of the application is done at CPC-M and then the second stage is either in Abu Dhabi or Manila. Its better to have it processed in Manila as it only takes 3-9 months for the second stage while it will take 27 months in Abu Dhabi. |

I just received my application back and I am extremely confused by this letter. Either we have been getting bad advice from this forum consistently for the past 6 months or the officer didn't read the application.
It says -
"It appears the person you are sponsoring is currently visiting in Canada from Jan 25th, 2011 and will need to leave by Jul 25th 2011. In order to meet the requirement for common law, you must show proof that you have resided together for a minimum of 12 months (current). Previous to January, it appears the person you are sponsoring was residing in Ireland. You do not qualify as common law. However, you could list him and yourself as conjugal partners."
Big wtf to that, to give a general idea of our case. Met my gf, she moved to Ireland from Canada in february 2010 where we lived together (joint leases, bank accounts, trips, photos, letters, affidavits, irish working visa for her) until both of us returned back here to live with my gfs mother. We have been consistently advised that this still qualified as part of the living together section...seen as we are uhhhh living together, still sharing finances, have letters of support etc. I am at a complete loss. Really dont understand or know how to proceed. And the call centre number doesnt work for me.
EDIT: Just got off the phone with the call centre, she agrees with me and the forum that the fact the we were living together from Feb 2010- Jan 2011 in ireland and then moved back to Canada together where we have been living since means that yes we should qualify. She asked for me to have my gf call back when she is not at work so she can access more of the file. This really sucks, it's beginning to seem that the officer just didn't read what we sent, all they had to look at was the index and they would have seen the page number fo everything that shows we were living together in Ireland.

Making New Application from the scratch... that sucks
We just received our application back yesterday and it was sent to an address, 6 hours from Mississauga, if it was going internationally it is quite likely it would still be in transit. |
