Hi,

I have applied for my FBI police clearence certificated on 12th Dec 2011 and its been 2 months now. I haven't got reply. Does anyone know how much time it takes to get FBI police clearence?

Moreover I have also submitted my NJ state police clearence with my application. Do I need to submit FBI police clearence along with state police clearence?

I would also like to know whether my file is in process or not since my FBI police clearence is not submitted?

I received my UCI NO. and application no a few days back. Is my file still being processed or its not?

Please help me

FBI certificates can take 12-15 weeks to be sent.  You do not usually have to submit state clearances, but there is no harm done in sending it since you got it done.

Who received the number? The sponsor from CPC-M or the applicant from the visa office?

Yes, your application will still go forward to the overseas embassy, even without the FBI clearance, but the embassy will not finalize the application without it.  Yes, you absolutely have to submit an FBI - they will not dispense with that simply because you have submitted a State clearance.  Typically, especially if you're processing through Buffalo, they will send you a letter requesting that you submit the FBI as soon as they get the file and discover it's not included.
