FBI Finger prints: Now or Later

Hello all,

I'm in the process of preparing my docs to submit to the Buffalo office. I'm a US citizen, but due to work, I'm out of the country for another 3 months. The only thing I have left is my FBI finger prints. I've read on other postings that some people submitted their finger prints with the initial application (as per the check list) instructions, and their were other people who advised to wait until the embassy asks for it, usually along with the medical exam and continued proof of funds. I would rather not to return to the US just to get finger printed, so will it be a problem if I submit my application without the finger prints now? Will my application be returned to me as incomplete? Oh, and is it OK to submit my application from abroad, to the Buffalo office?
