For those of us required to file in the USA as well as Canada, did you know about FBAR requirements?

I'm going insane trying to figure out whether my employer-based Registered Pension Plan (RPP) is considered a reportable financial account. (IT IS NOT AN RRSP).  Some sources say yes, some say no, neither the IRS nor professional accountants seem to be able to agree.  For me, the difference it makes is whether or not I should have filed the FBAR last year (and am therefore late for last year).

Then I have other issues regarding whether or not it is a "trust" (according to the IRS), tax deferred, etc.

Anyone else?
