maybe somebody applied for Work permit / Study permit visa and got in 3 months ( which is slow program for visas ) and for PR you should atleast wait for a year on a whole.

More than 3 months probably  will take to travel your file from your place to CIC, CIC to CHC, your place to CHC (under pre june2010), DMP to RMO, RMO to CHC, Your place (PP) to CHC, CHC to your place...... So think of leaving some working time for VO....... which could even be more than a year!!!

Reema, if you say someone got a visa under FSW then it is definitely not a student or visit visa, in which case i will assume that the special someone's got a lot of contacts......

Reema Fast Track program will take 12-15 months minimum looking at the current time lines. It also depends on your Visa office, the time varies from visa office to visa office. Also, There is lot of paper work involved and it will take more than 3 months to collect all of that.

Your starting point is cic.gc.ca. You need to check if you are eligible and then if you have suffcient points and meet other fund requirements to see if you can apply.

Certainly nobody is getting visas in 3 months. On the Federal Skilled Worker route I imagine the average for anyone currently in the system who applied after Feb 2008 is around 12 months or so. 8 months is very fast nowadays.

We're on the "new" supposedly faster process, which we've been in for over 6 months already and not even 2nd AOR yet. Being optimistic we may get visa within a year.

But even 6 months is a fantasy nowadays tbh.
