Salam alaikum everyone...
I was just wondering - once we hit the "7 month" mark, without an interview... do you think we should email them or get the MP to do it? Or just wait? I am a bit anxious becuase of my pregnancy... and his Medical expires end of November...
Do you think it would help or just slow things down?

Hi, Things are really slow in Rabat because of the summer vacation time. On another site people have not been getting there calls either for the interview. There are many people from January, February, and so on that are still waiting. Many send Emails, but there has not been any responses to them, or just a generic response. All are hoping that things will pick up after vacation time, and after the student and visitor Visas slow down. Good luck and God bless

Don't trust ECAS. It may never update until you land in Canada. People usually receive communication by mail for CIC before online status is even updated.
As far as how long, the whole process can take up to 7 months once the paper get to Rabat. In some cases even more. So, nothing you can really do but sit back, be patient and wait.
good luck.

I miss my husband...we talk every day....all the time...hours of telling each other about our days and planning our life....
Come on immigration!!! Let the rest of our life start!! Our application has been in process for 185 days....we have been in love for 1 year and 8 months.....but spent so little of that time in each others arms....I wish it was going faster....
**Crossing finger** I hope September it happens!

kinromorocco,
You should get a letter a few weeks after your wife receives her sponsorship approval. If you don't receive it within a month I highly recommend you email the embassy and ask them. This embassy has a habit of loosing files, confusing information, crossing data etc.
The letter you receive will have your dossier number on it and that's the number you use to track on the CIC website. They are working at this time because I have received correspondence from them this week via email so someone is there, although it may not be fully staffed in the summer, but that's just a guess.

WOW so many Canadians marrying Moroccans. Congratulations to you all! What internet site did you guys meet on?
I am a Canadian (born in Canada). Went to Morocco (parents homeland) twice this year, just got back in the middle of August. I miss it already, been their 11 times, but haven't been their in 10 years until this year.
Now I met a girl back their, and we are in a serious relationship, and inshAllah (god willing) plan on getting married.
From my understanding once we get married, I can file all of the documents in Canada once I return, is that correct? Do I need to bring any documents with me to Morocco, for when we get married?
Now on her part, do we need to go to Rabat to get some special documents, or can this all be done in Agadir? What special documents does she need from Rabat if we need anything?
Any insightful information would be great. I didn't go through the whole thread as it is too big!
Best regards,
|

Hi,
A friend of mine gave me this link because we are both going through the visa process, wich is long!
but chin up my case is going pretty well! it took 30 days to get everything done in Missisauga, 8 days to get a letter from Rabat to let us know that they received the papers and have started processing them. I'm a Quebec resident so i needed another paper from the provincial goverment, a selection certificate. That took 14 days and the 3 days to get to Rabat.
so basicly, they got our papers in Ontario on May 2 and the embassy in Rabat sent the letter to my husband on june 10 that they have started the process.
The case has been in waiting for 3 months now, they have all they need including medical and police certificates.
I do have a question, is an interview mandatory? if so what kind of questions will they ask? How long does it take to get an appointment for that?
Thanks !

Hello Alfawolf
You should get the interview around the seven month point. I haven't heard of anyone not having an interview in Morocco. You'll be asked to bring more evidence ie chat logs, phone records, e-mails, cards pics and any other evidence you have showing that your relationship is genuine. You will also need to take your passport. They will give you the passport back at the end of the interview. Then you will get a letter from them about two weeks later saying if you were approved or not.
The interview takes about an hour. You'll be asked your sponsor's name, birthday, how much she earns, how you met, how long ago you met, if you've met the family why or why not, what do you know about the family, do you know what your wifes hobbies are, have you spoken to any of her friends, if she has children do you interact with them, how are you going to be a supporting parent, where you have worked, have you given your wife any gifts and has she given you any gifts, why you want to come to Canada, if you are refused what will you do, what will you do if you come to Canada, did you consumate the marriage.
Be sure to take more evidence with you they need to see that you are still continuing a relationship.
Goodluck!

Hi again!
Thanks for the info even if it's not as good as i had hoped...i've been back since janurary and haven't seen my hubby in 8 months now...
but we talk all the time by phone and msn...thank goodness i keep all of our conversations!
But hopefully things will pick up soon since the holidays are over. It's been 3 months already so... Our case has been processed really fast from what my friend told me. He is an immigration consultant! so he is confident that it will be just 1 or 2 more months considering we don't have any kids, never been married or traveled much and i sent in proof of my trips with my cousin, 100 pictures at least of us and the wedding and family members, emails, phone bills $$$! lol. I think i sent in too much!
I surely will keep you posted regularly. My hubby is going to go inquire at the Embassy in person next week, just to say hello i'm waiting!! lol

Hello ,
I have another question,
My husband is waiting for his visa in Rabat for 3 months now. What are the chances he would be approved for a visitor's visa? and would this cause his file to be pushed back ?
Has anyone been approved for a visit while awaiting their permanent resident visa? Thanks

Hi Alfawolf;
There is no point applying for a tourist visa, especially since you already have a sponsorship application in process. They will highly doubt he will return to Morocco since he has a wife in Canada. You're better to wait out the sponsorship application process or go to morocco and visit him there.
I know it sucks - however that's the reality of the situation.
Best,

Hi Kinromorocco,
I recommed that you contact them directly, just to make sure that they have the correct mailing address. I know that with us they didn't have my correct address and my husband who is the one in Morocco received his letter of approval before i received mine and i am the one sponsoring him.
I know that its been a while since i have written anything on here. I just got back from marvelous Morocco last week after having spent a wonderful two months with my darling husband. I miss him already!!! Even more so now that we were both praying that this time he would be coming back with me and my daughter. We are at the seven month mark since Rabat has our file and we are just anxious to begin our lives together here. Even more so now that i came back pregnant, not on purpose!! We both talked about kids and wanted to have one for my daughter to have a play mate. My question to you all is which email address do you write to in Rabat to advise them of an upcoming baby birth???since now our application is not correct. Do you suggest that i call them??? or just wait for my hubby to get a call for his interview and have him tell them then???? not sure what to do ......
Its crazy this wait ..especially when the time frame on the website says 7 months its 80% of the applications...we both don't know how much longer we will be able to do this..since we need each other even more so now. Jamal was upset to see me come back with him since he has wanted to be by my side every step of the babies growth.
Inshallah we all receive the news we are waiting for...especially now that Ramadan is happening, you would think that things get processed faster since there are no food breaks right??
Our lives are in their hands for now..let just keep praying that news come quick.
Ramadan Karim to all and congratulations to all the new members who are either just married or will marry soon. Best decision in my life to have gone online and meet the now man of my dreams.
I love you Jamal Rijk Bahra, nkki dik ar lmot you are my true love forever.

Hi all. It too has been awhile since I have posted on here. Not much news to report. We are now at 10.5 months - I spoke to someone at Rabat who told me that we were delayed by a security check. The medical expired (remember that drama!!), immigration told us that they would send us the form to have a medical redone, it never arrived. Finally, my husband was able to arrange to pick this form up at Rabat. We sent it in 3.5 weeks ago. I am hoping we will get a call for a visa next week. But I am not holding my breath.
Definately 80% in 7 months is not accurate. And my husband's situation is very simple, never left the country, has only lived at one address, no kids, etc etc. and we are still at 10.5 months - I am just hoping he will be here before the end of the year.
Kinromorocco, my husband's AOR letter took almost 4 weeks to arrive due to an address that was entered into the system incorrectly. That took months to get right. If you are unsure if the address is correct on file, do the online application status inquiry, that will list the address on file.
Congratulations Indira.

Kinromorocco, I mean 10 and a half months, almost 11 months.
Our documents were in perfect order, in fact the officer even told my husband that they were absolutely perfect, done all on the computer. Every document was attached. She complimented us on how organized our file was.
I would not stress about not receiving the AOR letter. It is always late. They will not start processing your file for months. The AOR letter is just a letter to say that they have received your file. It is sent electronically from Mississauga to Rabat. It keeps you in the lineup. My husband's file was received November 2, we did not hear anything until mid April.
Rabat will not respond to you until after 7 months have passed from when the file is received in Rabat. (Since you have not received your letter yet, I would guess the 7 months would start about 2 weeks after your wife's sponsorship was approved)
I paid all the money at the beginning. It does not hurry your application along. BUT it prevents it from being delayed.
Becca

Salam alaikum everyone... Ramadan Kareem
Congratulations Indimer on your pregnancy, I hope Allah(swt) makes it easy for you and makes your baby strong and healthy inchaAllah.
As for me... Heard back from the visa office yesterday. I had gone to the MP's office to enquire about our case, and inform them of my pregnancy. The MP's assistant was amazing, she emailed Rabat and told them I am pregnant...
Got an email back yesterday...
they said: "The application is slated to be processed in October/November."
What does this mean? Allah(swt) knows... I hope it means they will finish in October/early November inchaAllah. I'm due in Dec.
We are still praying that they will contact him this month of Ramadhan. Only Allah(swt) knows and I know that He is the only one to help us. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If you ask, ask Allah and if you seek help, seek help from Allah." [at Tirmdhi, Ahmad]
May Allah(swt) give us strength and patience, and bring our families together soon.
Salam alaikum wa ra7mato lillah.
