I came to Canada with a TRV as a student, then I applied 50 days before my status had expired to extend my status through getting a study permit for the first time. I followed this one (Application to change conditions or extend your stay in Canada as a student)
I received a letter from the CIC 31 days after my status as a visitor had expired saying that my application was refused because I should have sent it outside Canada. The letter didn't say that I had to leave Canada.
I asked to my school and they told me that I'd better go back to my home country, so I left Canada 36 days after my status expired. I don't know if my status expired the day the letter was written or the day my original status as a visitor expired.
I really didn't know what I was doing was wrong.
I am just so worried that this is going to affect my future intentions of coming to Canada in the future. I am so worried. Will I be inadmissible? Am I going to get my applications denied?
I didn't say anything to CIC that I left the country, are they still thinking that I'm still in Canada?
I don't think it will have a negative effect, it's not as if you gained a criminal record in Canada. All future applications will be looked at in terms of their own merit.
You are CERTAINLY NOT INADMISSIBLE. So don't worry about that.
My only advise to you is whenever you do apply in the future, please be open and honest with them, then you should be fine. People get into trouble when they lie, as they will ask you about any refusals.
Canada as far as I know does not have any exit controls, ie it doesn't keep track of people leaving the country, so you don't have to worry about them thinking you're still in Canada.
Best of luck, I wish you success in all endeavors you undertake in life. God Bless.
