Extension of WP with LMO

Hello frnds,

This is on behalf of my frnd who applied for extension of his work permit. see below details

Date of application received: 31-Dec-2010
LMO -- yes
same employer -- yes

as of today, they are processing applications received till Dec 10th and per last few weeks updates it is going at snail pace increasing the no. of days to process to 139.

He is planning a trip to India for his marriage and now with not receiving WP and VISA it would be a rough path as we all know.

He is thinking of sending a letter to expedite the process and he is looking for an advice from senior folks

Could you please guys tell me
1. sending a letter could do anything good?
2. or will it have any negative impact?
3. else what would you suggest him?

It will not make a difference. Processing times are what they are and actually 139 days is not bad as I have seen it higher at times. His application should been processed in the next few weeks so I would just hang in there.

Through mall...I applied January 8. no reply yet...I called last week they said still processing documents received By Dec.10
