Hello!  Im very worried right now actually im panicking!  I just received a letter from Tokyo Visa office requiring my family and I to undergo a medical examination, pay Right of Permanent Residence Fees and submit our original passports.  I earlier posted a question about my daughter taking her medical in Manila and my husband and I here in TOkyo.  Very kind people answered and informed me that it can be done.  Then I realized that the 3rd requirement is that we should send our passports as well.  I am worried because I will be flying to Manila next month to be with my daughter and my husband will fly to Manila in December.  We will all spend the holidays in Manila.  Thus, if we send our passports we are worried that it might take more than a month for us to get our passports back.  Our tickets to Manila are non-refundable.  We have been wanting to live in Canada and don`t want to let this opportunity slip.  However, with our current situation I don`t know what to do.  Is it possible to extend the 30 day deadline to end of January 2011 ?  1st week of January 2011 my family and I will be back in Tokyo and we can all do the medical together and submit our passports without worrying of getting it back within a month.  Please help us!  We really need your kind advice ... anyone?!  How do I request for an extension?  Do I just email Tokyo visa office?  Is this possible?

hi pammy, if i were in your situation, i would communicate with the tokyo vo and check if it is possible, but you should be prepared if its not. I know that the ticket may be non-refundable, but if this is the cost in order for you to achieve your dream then you need to make a sacrifice. this opportunity only comes once so be careful with your choices. take care!

Write a letter to your visa office explaining important travel requirement and request for extension of time upto Jan 2011 to submit passports. With the reason you had given here they are going to agree on that.
