Extending visitors visa while waiting on lmo

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me?

I still have a valid visitors visa which I got when I entered Canada from the UK but it runs out in September.
What I want to know is if I leave Canada and cross the border to the US and come back in will this constitute RE-ENTRY???
Will they give me another 6 month visitors visa?
Right now LMO applications are taking about 7 weeks and I don't want to take the chance of over staying while waiting for it.
I have about another 6 days left to apply for extension of stay,but as I want to go to seattle anyway I was hoping they would re issue me with a visitors visa,Also would it make a difference to fly or drive??
I would be so greatfull for any advice!!

If you are from a visa-exempt country, then leaving Canada and re-entering would constitute a new visit. In that case you would have 6 months from the time you enter Canada.

I was just afraid I might have to go back to the UK as that is where I originally came in from,and come back for it to count as re-entry.
Do you know if it makes a difference if I fly or drive as I am in Vancouver and it would be convenient for me to drive??
I can show funds to support myself and have not over stayed,I am from a visa exempt country and have a valid passport.Can you think of any other problem I may have??I just want to make sure I have everything order as I don't want to get refused entry.

You should know that there is no guarantee that you will be admitted for an additional 6 months.

Hi thanks also for your responce. For what reason might they refuse me entry? Someone told me I should get an immigration lawyer to write me a letter explaining my case that I am waiting on my LMO decision and I will leave Canada after if it is refused.What would your thoughts be on this?

They might refuse if they feel that you are spending more time in Canada than your home country. They might assume that you would be overstaying.

I am not sure if writing a letter would help (everyone would start writing a letter saying they will leave if their application is refused).

I am assuming it does not make a difference if you fly or drive except for the time it takes.
