Hi there, I'm basically here from the UK and have been here for 4 months so far. Since uk residents dont require the temporary resident visa to holiday here I was wondering if its also possible to apply for an extension to stay for 12 months with the non visa entry method. The forms on the CIC website dont seem to have a section for that.

Any help would be very much apreciated, my reasons for wanting to stay are none other than im having a great time and i'd like to be able to see more of Canada than 6 months will allow me.

Thanks in advance

Fill up these forms: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visitor.asp and send it to CPC, Vegreville.

You can mention how long you would like to stay in form IMM 1249, question (10). You need to show the funds for supporting yourself.

I suppose the duration of extension depends on the officer who will be evaluating your case.
