Hi There

I am a female from the Uk and met my Canadian boyfriend whilst traveling round Australia last year. I came to Canada with him 4 months ago on a visitor visa and we now live with his parents.

I want to extend my visa so that we can look into becoming common law partners.

I have a few questions:

What would be the best thing to write for my reason for comming to Canada?

I came to visit his family, explore our relationship further and to persue becomming a common law partner?

Also how long can i extend it for? Can i ask for more than 6 months?

And finaly, although unfortuately i have no funds as such of my own, his parents he have agreed to support me whilst im here.
Would this be enough information for them or do i have to provide the household earnings etc....Huh

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated Smiley

Hi Sadie,

good luck with your extension request. My bf from England is awaiting his extension also.. If you have someone who will support you while here I think that is ok. just make sure you have proof of a return ticket and the other documentation as noted.

keep me posted

try to mention that you would like to explore the relationship, sometimes it works.
it's better to mention just 6 months - it's always up to them to decide how much to give you.
good luck!
