Hi PMM,

Thanks in advance for all your valuable suggestions.  Please guide me for my scenario.  Thanks!

I am here on work permit and working in IT profession.  My WP is expiring this month and going to apply for extension of my work permit (To Vegreville).

My question is about spousal work permit.

My spouse is back in India.  Is it possible for me to include her name (for work permit), while applying for my extension??  If not what is the procedure to do?

I already filed for my PR with spouse details...  Will this affect my WP extension.  Please let me konw your comments...

Your spouse should apply her own work permit in India.  You cannot put her in your extension application.   She can put you in her application though.  The WP that will be issued to her once approved is an open work permit and will be based on the expiration of your  your work permit.  It's like you are the primary person for the work permit and she's the secondary.  I suggest that you wait for your new work permit to come out first before your spouse apply in India.

Have a great day!
