Hello people,

Please, I am about to send my application but I thought I clarify the expiry date for bank draft. My VO is accra and in the document checklist, fee payment says; "certified cheques, bank draft and money orders may have expiry date. When you submit your application to the CIO, the expiry date must be at least five months into the future. If there is no expiry date on your certified cheque, money order or bank draft and it is drawn on a foreign bank . It can only be encashed for 6months from the date of issue. To ensure it can still be cashed when fee payment is processed at the CIO, it must be issued no more than 30days before you send your application to the CIO"
I got my bank draft from the Toronto dominion bank dated 15th may,2011. I am about to send my application, is it still valid or should I just get another one?
Thanks!

Usually the Drafts have a validity of 6 months, so if you apply today you have 3-4 days before you have less than 5 months. You can check from the bank for the exact validity of the draft.

As per the latest postings in the forum the CIO is encashing the draft well with in 1 month so it should not be a problem if you send the draft with the application.
