Expiring Canadian PR card for U.S. citizen

Hello all,
My Canadian PR card is expiring Aug this year, and i am U.S. Greencard. I am planning to permanantly live in Canada but in the past i only stayed in Canada a few days. From reading the forum, i understand that i could enter the country and live up to 2 years then renew the card. That is a great advice.
1. I know with U.S. Greencard I would be fine entering Canada. Should i have to use Canadian PR card in order to proof that i have entered the country? But i'm afraid to be caught due to lack of residency requirement.
2. Can i enter Canada after Aug using U.S. Greencard? I have a family matter to handle which may cost a couple months delay.
3. With an Expired PR card, can i work legally? Does the employer require a valid PR card? How about Health Card and SIN card, drive license?
4. If i'm having a kid with Expired PR card, can the kid get Canadian PR?

1. As a PR, you should use your PR card to enter but you are also strictly speaking not required to have a PR card on you when you enter in a private car from the US but you might have to have a discussion with the immigration officers about that.

2. You can surely try.  If they realize from your passport or from asking that you are a PR as well, they will give you a talking to about having your PR card and they may ask you how long have you lived in Canada during the last 5 years etc.  They may report you for not meeting the residency requirements.  If they do, they would still let you into Canada but you would have to appeal to keep your PR.

3. If you don't get reported and enter Canada with an expired PR card, you may work legally as you are still a PR until immigration says you are not.  The employer does not need a valid PR card.  Applying for a health card, SIN card and drivers license, you can try using your landing papers.

4.  Do you already have the kid or you mean if you have a kid later in Canada?  If the baby is born in Canada, it will be a Canadian citizen.  If the kid is already there, if it has a US green card or citizenship, it can enter with you as a visitor but you would have to sponsor it for PR.  Sponsoring while you do not meet the residency requirements could be risky if they use the opportunity to check if you meet them.  I have heard of people doing it though.  If you don't sponsor your kid, you will have a problem because the kid on a visit visa can only stay 6 months, may not be allowed to go to school and will not get health care.
