Hi,

I just noticed my PR card has expired (April 2012), I need to travel to the US because my grandmother is really sick, I have a US visa.

I am not sure what to do as we are driving there and I know if I applied for a new card I might not get it by May 16, 2012 as they need proof of travel(we are renting a car, would this work?).

Also, I do not want to renew my PR card as I already applied for my citizen in January.

Please any advice will be helpful.

Thanks,

You have limited options - stay in until your papers are done.
