Hi,
one of my friends got her bachelors degree from a recognized university of  but she appeared for the examination as a private candidate. His husband is the principal applicant.is she going to get points for her bachelor degree or not. Will cic accept her qualification as she appeared as a private candidate.I mean is there a difference between earning a degree as regular or private candidate, although she has completed her 14 yrs of full time study.i would appreciate any expert opinion. Or if anyone who had gone thru almost the same situation or so,plz share ur views with us.thanks

I have a Bachelor's degree from Canada and a BA from Pakistan and I appeared as a private candidate for the BA. When I applied in the skilled worker's class, I counted my second degree as well. I think your friend should count her degree since its still considered a degree regardless of how the exams were given.

Hope this helps....
