Hi All,

I am writing just to share our experience of applying visitor visa from Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. This post is just to encourage other members to apply comfortably and without any fear.

We are originally from Pakistan and my husband is currently working in Abu Dhabi with one company of ADNOC group. This year, we planned to visit Canada for summer vacations and we applied for both of us with our little one of age 23 months for visitor visa with multiple entry on 3rd of June 2012. My husband submitted our applications personally in Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi in Abu Dhabi Mall.

Documents we submitted for application are,

We created three sets of applications for three of us which contains,

IMM5257E - Application for Temporary Resident Visa
IMM5645E - Family Information
2 Photos
Passport
Invitation Letter from our relative in Canada
Salary certificate of our relative
Tax return of our relative
Canadian Passport copy of our relative
My Husband's salary certificate
My Husband's approved vacations form for three weeks
My Husband's bank statement
Copy of our passport pages with all previous visas and stamps
Flight bookings with departure and return dates
Processing Fee as a family (1450 AED)

While submission our application packages, lady on counter told us it will take around 4 weeks. And after 4 weeks of silence, we received Aramex package on 3rd of July 2012 with our passports stamped with Canadian visa on it issued at 26th of June 2012 and valid till 28th of November 2013. Which is quite fantastic as we have been granted to enter in Canada as visitors for next one and half year.

It seems they process our application smoothly and I reckon, if application is completed and case is genuine, application should be approved. Here I must mention, what I feel is; your travel history play a big role in your application approval or rejection. In last five years, my husband and myself traveled to Australia, Denmark, Pakistan and UAE quite frequently and we have good history of visas and stamps on our passports. It is my personal feeling that if you have good travel history, they will not feel that you will slip somewhere in their country.

As things are already planned and also went smooth, we will be flying for Toronto tomorrow with Etihad inshaALLAH.

See you Canada shortly.

No, we didn't include any cover letter with our application. Only a letter from our host was attached with application.

We got booking with Etihad Airways (not purchased any ticket) and attached that booking copies with application

My husband got copies of bank statement from bank and got each page stamped by bank. He has an account with Emirates NBD and this bank and they charged 25AED for a copy of 6 months bank statement.

Other than Pakistan, we had travelling history for Australia and Denmark with stay of 3 years and 6 months respectively.

Ending balance was around 30,000 $.

If you are sure that your application is complete, it is always better to send application via courier. If you are not sure, then go in the morning but it will take long hours as your will find lots of people there.

There is nothing to worry. If Visa Office finds a case genuine and you don't have any intention to get slipped there, your visa application should be approved.

Good luck for your application. Attach evidence that you run your own business. With this sound travel history, chances of success are high.

My husband submitted application by visiting Abu Dhabi embassy in Abu Dhabi Mall as it is closer to his workplace. But it took him more than 4 hours. In his opinion, it was better to send through courier.
