Hi,

My previous company experience letter is issued on company's official letter head, however it is not stamped/sealed. And for my present employer where I have been working more than more 7 years. I do have orignal experience lttr + reference ltter + salary lttr signed and stamped by my supervisor. Also i have included the copy of job contract for this company.

Now my question is owing to the above mentioned scenario; can i submit my file for SWI though my experience letter for previous employer is not stamped and i don't have copy of contract for it.

Please advise...

so far i know, according to the new circular at july 2011, it is not mandatory to have official seal or stamped, company letter head is enough. in the instruction it is mentioned seal or stamp if applicable. so u dont need to worry

Hi Aayan,

Agreed with BD and moreover you have 7years of relevant experience/docs to support which is more than enough to satisfy the VO. Since Seal or stamp is not mandatory, you need not worry; but if possible just mention in your cover letter for the sake of transparency though not mandatory.

you must get a copy of any docs from that company and has stamped with clarification and got it approved by any agency or natirzed it with confirmation letter so your VO could understand that is the proper reason....u may send it now if possible contact via CAPNOTES or email

If it is on letterhead and you do not have a stamp, it is okay

Hi everyone,

thanks for your feedback. yesterday i've dispatched my file under SWI catergory# 1122. I am not sure if my application is going to enter in the 500 candidate's limit or not. Can anyone tell me if the application caps has been on for this category (1122) or not yet.

Check paragraph 11

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5612E.pdf    It says "If applicable" for company's official seal.
How do they know if your supervisor has access to official seal or not? Every company has their own rules and official signatures and seal usage.

I think that visa office can always ask for additional confirmation if something is not clear to them.

If it is on company letterhead I don't think it needs a specific company stamp/seal after that. All our references were just on company letterheads, we had no stamp or seals.

The most important thing is that the person who wrote the experience letter can be contacted, so either include a business card or make sure the full contact details of the person giving the reference is included.

If the visa office have any doubts or questions they can then telephone the reference-giver to clear things up.

Best of luck.

What if it's there no contact details of the signing person (asuming that no Business card was sent), but just general info on the header. Would that be a reason of NER? Or when it's checked by the VO, they could ask for the direct contact details?

Well, they can always call general number of your company which is shown on the internet site (if your company has one) and ask for specific person. Depends on visa officer.
