Experience letter from the old employer

Hi,

I'm now collecting the supporting document to submit it to London office and I have only 40 days to send the documents.
I have 10 years of experience five of them with the current employer which Im still working with him till date and I get a reference letter from him.

But the problem is the previous employer which is in my home country and this company is closed now because of some finance problem and I couldint get a letter from them.

So what can I do to submit it whit my application ?
Can I submit an explanation letter ?

Is any body has the same case?

Submit an explanation letter and if possible get any newspaper publication of the closure of the company.
