experience dilemma

In my work experience letter , it is stated that i am working in the institution SINCE 18/02/1997.The letter is dated 06.07.2009.Really i was working in that firm up to 06.07.2009.The problem is that , in "FROM....TO "date, the from date is there (18/02/1997) but no TO date. The letter issued to me when i was relieved from there.Is it a matter  of rejection?The consultancy told me that it is enough.
PLS ADVISE AS I AM CONFUSED.
