Hi there,

Just wondering anyone can give me some info on the best option for exchanging a reciprocal ontario driving license.

My situation is a bit unique where I have a Malaysia driving license for 15 years and a UK driving license for less than 2 years. I understand that a 2 years UK driving license is eligible for exchanging a Reciprocal Licence in Ontario but my issue is that I have only 1 year 3 months UK driving experience.

In such situation, can I submit my Malaysia driving license with a Letter of Authentication from the Malaysia Embassy to gain credits for experience and also to submit my UK driving license in exchange for a reciprocal ontario full 'G' License.

Otherwise, should I wait for a full 2 years UK driving experience before applying for a reciprocal full 'G' driving license. This means that I won't be able to drive in Canada till my 2 years is up.

Would really appreciate some advise.

Thanks! Smiley

If you can get a letter of certification from the Malaysian embassy to claim the "over 2 years" driving experience then you can get a G2 [after taking the written theory test].

Thereafter, you only have one road test to pass to get the full G.
