Hi,

I have asked this before but still can't get this question answered. I always call the phone line to ask questions but they are always so busy that I can NEVER get through to them.

I want my spouse to come to Canada asap but have not received the visa yet since we only applied about a month ago. The adress of my spouse in the application is listed as the adress of her residency in Japan(where she currently resides.) A TRV is not required for Japanese, meaning she can come as a visitor. The only information I know regarding this is that we can possibly send an adress change notification to immigration.

So my questions are..

1. Can she come at anytime even though we have not received her visa?
2. If she can, can we inform immigration of the adress change from Japan to Canada and she will receive her 'passport request' to the changed adress in Canada?

Thanks!

1) Yes
2) Instead, your wife can "appoint" you as her representative and all the correspondence between her and the visa office would be forward to your Canadian address.  Wouldn't this be better?

That would be much better. Now how do we do that?

Fill in the form and send it to CIC.

I answered in your other thread. Yes, you can change your spouse's mailing address. I changed mine via email (to the Buffalo office) and after I got my PPR via email too. Not sure all visa offices handle it that way though.
