Hi all, question...

I will be ready in about 2 weeks to send in all my paperwork. I would like to have my wife come here (from Austria) sometime in September so she can learn the language while we wait for the out of country application to be processed. She spoke to someone at the Canadian Embassy there and they recommended she wait for a letter from Immigration confirming her application is in process before trying the enter Canada as she might have problems. Does anyone know how long it takes for this letter to arrive after sending in your application? Does anyone have any tips on entering Canada for the maximum stay of six months? She will be quitting her job before she comes out, and from what I hear this is something border officers do not wish to hear when someone is landing on a visitor visa.

Any help, personal experiences... would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

She can enter and advise the CBSA officer upon arriving that there is a sponsorship application in process.  If you don't have the letters from Mississauga or her visa post by then, she can use a copy of the fees receipt to show them.
