If your wife did not apply for extension of her visit then she does not have status in Canada right now. She may be refused entry to the US too if she's holding a single entry Canadian TRV.

I am currently in Canada on Work permit. My Visa and WP both expire on Nov 01, 2011
My wife is also accompanying me in Canada since Jan 30, 2011. She is having Visitors Visa (Dependent on me)
I've got US Tourist Visa (B2) as well. I am planning to visit US along with my wife between Oct 10, 2011 to Oct 25, 2011 and return back to Canada before Nov 01, 2011 since my Canada Visa expires then
However, since my wife has been here in Canada since Jan 30, 2011, can my wife again enter Canada before Nov 01, 2011? I just got an advise from my friend that since my wife has been in Canada on Visitor Visa for more than 6 months, she cannot enter Canada again.
Also, if I (and my wife) get my WP extended, then will I(and my wife) be able to go to US and reenter to Canada after Nov 01, 2011?
