Hello, I am currently living and working as a carpenter in Cyprus and we are wondering if it is still possible to get a sponsorship being a tradesman into Canada. I live with my wife and three children and my wifes occupation is an accounts assistant. We have been on lots of job sites for Canada and have found plenty of jobs suited to us and have applied to them all. Are we wasting our time applying for these positions and is there an alternative route we could be taking?

Many thanks.

It is not very easy to get a job offer from outside Canada but it is possible.  I have been messaging with a man who is also a carpenter/cabinetmaker who has been trying to do this.  After applying for many positions and talking to many employers, he eventually found a small employer in Saskatchewan who agreed to sponsor him under the provincial nominee program so it is possible but it takes a lot of patience and hard work.
