I am applying for Application for Canadian citizenship for a person adopted by a Canadian citizen (on or after January 1, 1947) and I have been confirmed the eligibility of the requirements in my letter of Part 1 that I received. This is my email that I received from the Canadian Visa Office in Sydney, Australia:

Dear Sir,

Your application will be processed this week. It was received in Sydney,
Australia, on 17 January 2011. We process this kind of application with the
highest priority and straightforward cases can be finalized within days.

Regards.

My question is that when they say that my case will be finalized within days, that means that I have been confirmed my Canadian Citizenship through the adoption process?

Hi,

re-reading the email extract, no I would say it hasn't been finalized yet (they are still processing it). but that you can expect to hear confirmation from them either way very soon (if you haven't already).

Good luck!

It just sounds like an automatic-reply email.

I was granted Canadian citizenship on January 28th 2011. The process was very quick and I was sent a congratulations email with the pdf attachment of the letter explaining that I was granted Canadian citizenship through the citizenship adoption process within the first generation!!

All in all from the start to the end of the process it took me just 7 months to acquire Canadian citizenship. Easy as!! No oath, no residency requirements, no background check.

I got awesome support from the Embassy of Canada in Sydney, Australia. Love it!!
