Hi everyone i have completed 16 years of education (electrical engineering) plus i m currently completing my masters from US. How much points i can get for my education if i have completed one year of my Masters studies?

I also gave IELTS in 2005 and got overall 7.5 band

Although i have 72 points (assuming my previous IELTS score,MS degree,Age,experience) my degree does not come in occupation list so any ideas how to apply? l have 4 years of experience in managerial post as production engineer. Can i apply?

As an Electrical Engineer and as a Production Manager I think you cannot because none of the 2 categories are listed in the 38 list as per the Ministerial Instruction. Unless as an Electrical Engineer you perform the duties and responsibilities like that of an electrician or an industrial electrician then you are qualified to apply because these 2 categories are in the 38 list.

I am an Electrical Engineer too, applied in April 2008. That was the time when new law had been passed but before the 38 list came out. My work experiences are very similar to what industrial electricians do as described in the NOC, but my application was rejected for the reason of not being in the 38 list. I used the NOC code of an Electrical Engineer and mentioned duties and responsibilities as an Electrical Engineer but did not mention that I am also doing Industrial Electrician jobs as part of my responsibility as an Electrical Engineer in the company where I am working. That application even includes my wife as my dependent whose profession and experience belongs to the 38 list. But it was still rejected.

2nd application was submitted in Feb 2009, this time my wife as the principal applicant, now status is IN PROCESS.

...My advice. Apply as an Electrician(Construction) or as an Industrial Electrician. Each has different NOC codes. But your employment certificate should include job duties and responsibilities that matches to what is described in the NOC codes for contruction electrician and Industrial Elctrician.

I am also an Electrical & Electronic Engr. I have applied in new catagory since i work in IT. I already waiting for medical request. So, I think it is not a problem in educational, if u have experience in the said catagory. If you check thoroghly the NOC 0213, you will get that a qualification of engineering degree is valid for the experiece.
