Hi All,
I am the new comer to this board & seeking advice 4m everyone having knowledge in this regard. I have completed 2 years Bachelor from pakistan (14 years education) plus 1 year M.Sc in Finance from London altogether 15 years. How many points i should look for it.20 or 22 or more. Also, Can only the principal applicant claim the points on the basis of Education or Dependent (wife) is also eligible to claim the points on the basis of education. In my case , My wife has got 16 years education 4m Pakistan including 2 years of M.Sc Chemistry degree. How many points she can have & can i claim her points in my application.
I believe that knowledge increases by delivering it to others.
Many regards to ALL.

In your case, there's no dispute.
For 25 points, you need: AT LEAST masters + AT LEAST 17 years of full time study
For 22 points, you need: AT LEAST two Bachelors degrees (Masters dont qualify - dont ask me why) + AT LEAST 15 years Full Time Study
For 20 points, you need: AT LEAST ONE Bachelors Degree + AT least 14 years Full time study
Since you dont have 17 years of full time or FTE education with your masters, you can get only 20 points.
Wife can claim points on the following basis.
For 5 points, she needs: AT LEAST masters + AT LEAST 17 years of full time study
For 4 points, she needs: AT LEAST 2 yr bachelors (or trade certificate et. al) + AT LEAST 14 years of full time study
Since your wife doesnt have 17 years of full time study even though she got masters, she can get only 4 points.
If you wish, you can post your total points in the forum, so that other members can make suggestions. Please note that ALL YOU NEED is 67. If you have reached 67, go ahead and submit. Getting more than 67 will not give u any extra benefit. It will not expedite your case AFAIK. Best of Luck!
