I'm new to the forum and having a bit of a major worry.  Our application has gone from CIC in Canada to London Visa office for processing.  In October we received the letter from Canada with our B file number to say we could now submitt all our evidence to London in the 120days...which we did and this went off and was delivered to them on 30.12.10.  I kept checking e-cas to see if our case was active on the e-cas system and it took until January to see the status of "in process"....new found joy....or so I thought!

In mid Feb I checked again and now it does not recognise our file number and does not show anything...I'm worrying...why is this the case?

Also I know the processing time at London is 13months, so can't get in touch although have sent an e-mail and waiting for the response in 28days!  Also should I have got a receipt from London to confirm they have at least received it?  It seems a mad system to just sit and wait for 18months to pass until alarm bells can be rung!!!

Can anyone please help clarify the process and stop me from worrying about this, I know the process is long but I want to know at least that my application will be sitting in a very big pile somewhere and has been received!!!

Thanks.

In the past few weeks there had been an error in ecas but if ecas was recognizing your details before it should show now some thing atleast. Total disappearance or not recognising the details is bit weird. You should report it to CHC London.

Are you sure you entering details correctly?? spellings of surname,dob.etc.

Unfortunately London doesn't send any receipt that they have received your docs.

Soon you will get a new file number, which is known as 2nd AOR. It seems that in your case the new file number has been allocated, and you will get by postal mail. Then you can try with that new number in eCas system.

There is nothing to worry about it. It's a positive development.

But I think for him is too early to receive 2nd AOR. Docs were received on 30-12-2010

HI to all,
My address also disappeared for the 2nd time and after 4 days now it  has returned to normal, but there is no postal code attached to the address, that is the only thing missing from t he address.

guys have a look at the inner part of my status, it has never been updated since i sent documents to Visa office, should i inform them or just let it go.

We received your application for permanent residence on January 30, 2009.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on February 12, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

This is all i see.

But when i order Caips notes last January the visa officer has looked at my file and has written some comments and put this notice.

PAPER FILE SENT TO PA FILE BF'D TO: PS ON 22-01-2011 MICROLOCATOR

What does the above statement? when do you  think i can order another Caips to see what was done in my file.

Thanks in advance.

It had happened to me also...accrdng to me it usually when they make an update in our cases..

try changing your surname & login..

Ex: if ur name is ABC DEF XYZ.. try changing the order like XYZ or XYZ DEF or DEF alone..

i had tried it out successfully (Personal advice)

Thanks

Dear All
Thanks for the advice pittabread and mapleleaf.  I had read there had been issues with the IT system changing over so I'm hoping it is this that's causing the disappearance.  We've had no receipt of docs from London (thanks for letting me know this doesn't happen) but haven't had any other correspondence either with updated numbers.  I have e-mailed CHC in London but it takes them 28days to respond to you so still waiting for that.  I even tried to find out if the bankers draft had cleared, but bank couldn't see that it had.  I'm assuming our application is sitting in a big pile of post somewhere waiting for processing along with the other 400,000!

Reading through the various postings, I can see that this is going to take some time and did think that FSW route would be faster!!!!  Next step I think is to get a job offer and hopefully speed things up!

Any further advice welcome.   Smiley
