E-cas status query

Can anyone explain to me how e-cas works

I have been signing in ever since I sent my medicals, and there is nothing under status, just blank!
It has been the same way since 17 July 2010. Does anyone know what that means.

I dont find e-cas very useful at all, so i was wondering if other can share their feelings.

E-cas is not always the true reflection of your status. This happened in my case as well. My status never changed since Aug 2009. I did my medicals in June 2010 than PPR and than visa in August 2010. Nothing at all happened in E-cas. I got visa on 24 august 2010. My e-cas changed to DECISION MADE after one week of visas only...till than only thing appearing in the status was WE HAVE STARTED REVIEWING YOUR APPLICATION IN AUGUST 2009

Hi edupolo,

It looks like if depends of the visa office. In my case my status has always been right on. From the moment and sent my application to the medicals request. But as asyousuf said in his case it was the complete opposite of mine.

This E-cas is a very strange entity. In my case It has been almost 13 months since I have submitted my documents to CHC ISB before the decision has been made to submit to London office. I have received an email from London office that my application is with them and will be processed there but my e-cas status is picturing the status as "Pending Review".  Would anyone elaborate its meaning? Is it that application still untouched or is it that it might be under process but could not be reflected in E-cas?
All are requested to come up with their knowledge and experiences.

My e-cas is showing "Received by Visa Office". All the details are clearly mentioned in my ecas.

You guys do not need to worry because London office is fully loaded with cases from middle east and Pakistan.

Like someone suggested above, e-cas might not be a true reflection of the state of things.I started my application early 2007, did my medicals in july, waiting for my passport request but e-cas still shows in process!!

Ya that's true, ECas is not always a true reflection of actual stage. ECas differs from VO to VO and case to case as well. Like old applicants, Pre Feb 2008 will have their ECas status In process since day 1 until they receive visas. Post Feb 2008 will have different ECas status' throughout different application stages but again will depend purely on country of application.
