Hi, I've noticed that my details have gone from e-cas.  Completely gone!  It states it can't identify me with the number I've been using in the past.  Has anybody else experienced this?  I've read from other posts that e-cas isn't always reliable, but to totally disappear is a bit strange.

Are you using the sponsor or applicant? And whose info were you logging in with?
If you were using the sponsors info then try the applicants. If everything you try doesn't work, maybe call CIC.
The CIC server isn't very reliable. They could be updating the information on your e-Cas and it just isn't working yet or one of the servers could be down. Either way, I would either give it a few days to check again or call and ask CIC. You might have to call a few times before you get a helpful agent.

CIC call center is as bad.... I rang up a good few times about my situation, and they tell me that I am deemed rehabilitated... I reckon the retards of CIC are on the call centre...... NO OFFENCE INTENDED TO ANY UNDERCOVER HELPERS on the forum.....!!!

Thanks Love_Young

I'm the applicant and I'm using my info to log on.  I'm using the same file number given to me in the AOR but for some reason it now won't acknowledge it.  I thought as you suggested it might be a server issue but will wait a few days to check and email CIC about it.  It's a bit unsettling to see it, makes me feel like I've dropped out of the queue to be processed.  Smiley

That's why I posted to call to get a helpful one. It takes a while but there are actual helpful ones.
I mean I know first hand how bad their advice can be. After all if it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't got approved for my first extension because the advice the agent gave me was horrible but I was naive and believed it. That is why it is always important that if you are looking for advice by CIC agents that you try a few times. But it can be a chore to get the help you are looking for.

When in doubt, come back here and verify the answers with members here to see if they agree.  Wink

Some people have noted that the file numbers change during the application process.

Try these combinations to see if you can get any further details:
1. sponsor name/birthdate/birthplace & receipt #
2. applicant name/birthdate/birthplace & CLIENT # (should be on AOR)

Also, since the sponsorship has been approved, the sponsor could try their details and their client #, as assigned in the sponsorship approval letter.

Thanks doctorkb

I tried all of your suggestions and still can't see our details on e-cas.  I'll contact CIC in a few days if it doesn't resolve itself.

It has happened to me!

I had been able to check my status on line since August/2010 and I last successfully checked my e-cas in March. I am not able to log into e-cas ever since.

I am able to log into it with my sponsors info but since his part of the process is done so it says, "decision made", it only means that he has been approved as my sponsor.

CIC is transitioning to a new computer system called GCMS (Global Case Management System).  There have been plenty of glitches in ECAS and will continue to be more until the transition is complete.  Do NOT worry about this.

I don't know but it's kind of long of their part for the upgrade. They should close e-cas for a week and then open it up with the new system.

A week?  Shocked  I don't think you understand how LARGE this system actually is.  They would have to shut down all of the visa offices, CIC offices in Canada and CBSA functions at the POEs just off the top of my head.  How loud would people scream if they basically shut down immigration for a week?  No international flights allowed to land in Canada? Canada/US border closed for a week? Oy vay!
