I am curious to know why some individuals have file numbers listed in the e-Cas profiles.  I see none of that for our profile, just information about a Decision Made in regards to the sponsorship application and an "in process" status in regards to the application for Canadian Visa...others are discussing things like file numbers changing from Bxxxxxx to Fxxxxx etc.?  Where are these numbers supposed to be located?

The file numbers Bxxxxxxxxx is ur immigration file number created by your local VO. This is generally supposed to be issued and updated on E-Cas by our VOs..

However, not everyone sees it on their Ecas..

EG - We found out ours when we were sent a letter from the local VO requesting for more docs.. Also we are supposed to be able to log in with this information on Ecas just like how we are able to with our client IDs.. But ours comes up as invalid.

So go figure..

Most ppl get this file number in their 2nd AOR which is recieved by the applicant, not the sponsor from the local visa office. If your visa office is as bad as ours, then dont worry too much unless u have an issue..

hope this helps! Smiley

Oh that does, and in fact I know the B number already as you are right my wife received it.  However as you indicated we cannot log into ECAS with that number, and rather use our receipt number.  It's just weird that some individuals see it on ECAS and we don't.  Guess no reason to be concerned after all.

yeah we have had no updates since the first week of january.. the only change from then till now was the "medical received" line. it was there initially when we logged in.. then it went missing around the same time my husband got a letter from the local VO asking for a document.. and then it was back up a few weeks ago. but the status itself remains the same after all this time...

It's disheartening because they state that 6-8 weeks after supplemental medicals are received, a decision on visa issuance will be made.  It's now going on 11 weeks and we haven't seen a letter, ecas update, or email from the visa office.  We have confirmed that everything has been received in a timely matter.

Trust me when I say that I understand. The "Medicals have been received" line went missing on our Ecas today. It's actually such a pity that they are so difficult... Just hang in there whatever you do... Trust me, it gets worse before it gets better.. One piece of mail or a quick email is all it takes to make or break our day, week, month, year..

My advice is remain hopeful and positive no matter what.

It has been explained in a number of posts that CIC/CHC is changing over to a new Computer system and program, GCMS.  So Ecas is flaky these days, so don't worry.

At least you were fortunate enough to see it on ecas.  Melbel hope at this point is all we have besides love, so if we lose faith in that, then it can be a very very difficult wait!

Canadianguy I sometimes don't know if I should laugh or cry! really it's that bad!!

Yesterday when I told my hubby about the line going missing on ecas all he asked me is "what the hell is wrong with these ppl?!?!?"

We are prodding along everyday.. I have like 3 countdowns on my laptop and i must say from the day that i joined this forum, so much has happened!

I'll tell u one thing for sure, i'm the most impatient person i know in the world and this has become the lesson of a life time for me Tongue I think the big guy up there finally found a way to test how patiently I can wait until I lose my ever loving mind!

hehehehe..
