After 2.5 frustrating months ECAS finally shows "Decision Made" for my sponsorship application to bring my wife to Canada from Moscow. Unfortunately, all it says is "A letter has been sent to the address you provided concerning the decision we made etc etc".

Of course, now I can't help but wonder "what if it's a rejection?" I've read of people receiving emails and things like that, but I haven't received any. It took over 2 months because I got a much higher-paying job and moved from Halifax to Victoria in the middle of the process, and they required more information but then Canada Post went on strike. I made sure to supply them with a letter from my employer and all that jazz.

Now I'm waiting for a letter to arrive and torturing myself. Basically, if it's a refusal, I'm emigrating to Russia and our Canadian system can go stuff itself. If it's an approval, then great! Oh Canada!

If you're not an undisharged bankrupt,  a recipient of social assistance for reasons other than disability, underaged, been convicted of assault against a family member, or any of the other reasons listed as making someone ineligible to sponsor...then it is likely a positive decision. Relax.  It took us the same time to be approved, and after all that waiting it was positive.  Be positive. Smiley

Another good news, if it is an approval, which most likely it is, your application is already in Moscow Smiley

And one more thing, there are still a lot forumers who did not receive mail yet because of the postal strike. Not everyone receives email even if you indicated one.
