Dear Ihabkal,
I am European and I know my culture..I will be careful to answer your question without abusing this forum for religious or political reasons.
Growing up "western style" is as different as it gets compared to maybe growing up the Muslim or Hindu way. You are right, there are different values, in my eyes for freedom, more self responsibilities. As to teenage rebellion, it exists anywhere. I am currently lecturing at a large university in New Zealand, 50% of students are Indian and I tell you, they enjoy their freedom..!
If you go to Canada, then why not live the Canadian way? Your kids certainly will whether you like it or not. Their friends and companions will do the same. They will still love you as a dad, because you let them be what they are, they still love you because you love them.
Again, this is my opinion only and should be taken as that. No politcal or religious agenda behind.

Correct, I will describe more at length shortly.

Guys,

Canada is a wonderful country as India, Pakistan, US, Dominican Republic and many many places worldwide are: What really makes the difference is the attitude and not the financial issue itself. I Remember when living in the United States that at one point I decided to make a change in my life and moved to DR. Well, it wasnīt a smart move for many. For me and my family, One of the Best decision weīve ever made.

Our children are grown already and ready to move to Canada as soon as we get the green light from CIC. We are 100% sure Canada will NOT provide such opportunities. WE have to look for and create them. Opportunities are everywhere... We have invested time with our children by explaining that the future is NOT who you are and what you make. But, Itīs all you want to be in life.

Canada cannot be the best place to live in the world, but itīs the one we have chosen and we are working on preparing ourselves in a proactive way. English ONLY Policy at home, Learning the culture, looking for job opportunities, nerworking, and do all efforts required to become part of it. However, it does not going to hapenn overnight. It will be harder but toughness is for warriors.

In conclusion, making US$100,000 in Pakistan, India or anywhere else, itīs not such a big deal to me since I only make 1/3 of it and live as happy as one can be Thanks to the Lord!!!

Cheers

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith.Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light.Where there is sadness, joy. (St. FA)
