Hi,

I have applied new work permit with new employer on June 1st (i am in Canada now), my employer asked as early as possible but as per latest update in immigration it is mentioned 66 days and processing application received on Apr 11 th 2011.

Will it take long time to get new work permit? I donot how to explain to employer and it looks delay due to postal strike.

Thanks

as per CIC website it takes 57 days online app and as answered also by PMM. Anyways, your new employer for sure knows that, since it is stated on one of the clauses in the Live-in Caregiver Employment Contract (If you are LCP)
Work permit:
Both parties agree that this contract is conditional upon the EMPLOYEE obtaining a valid work permit pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its Regulations, and his/her entry into Canada under the Live-in Caregiver Program.

Good luck (-:

Hi

I have one more clarification please help me. Now I have applied work permit under NOC 9990.6 as the job offer from my employer provided under this but I was working in work permit for that last one year. I am planning to apply open work permit for my husband he is currently working in India from India and for my kid to study here. Is this possible? Can my husband get open work permit before coming here so that he start looking for job as soon as come here? as we are totally dependents on salary.

I am hoping for good but Could you please guide your suggestion?

Thanks

I believe it's from the date they received the application...

It's now 73 days processing time...for some reason they stopped processing work permits after April 11th. Sooo frustrating, my application was submitted April 27th.....

I'm not sure....guess it's up to the employer....I'm more concerned that the April 11th date has not moved in over a month....

Surprisingly the online application has been faster after the postal stike,
When I applied it was 36 days for postal application and 55 days for online application.
Now paper application seems to take longer time.

Could you guys keep the thread updated on when you receive the approval, it will help others in plannign the delay.

I know, it was the same for me when I applied. That's why I went with the paper route cause at the time it was faster. If I have gone with the online application it would have been ready by now.  Embarrassed

I just hope they start processing soon again, this is getting ridiculous....
