@ Friends, By the grace of Almighty, we (the family) did our Medicals yesterday in Dubai's health bay- Had taken the appointment a week earlier-but generally 3-4 days are required. We arrived 20 minutes earlier than the stipulated time - and Prior to yesterday- we were all drinking a lot of water (like a Fish!) The staff was really very friendly. We had these handy--3 Photos, Original Passports, Original Med form that was recd from CHC. The following tests were conducted:- 1. Blood Pressure Check 2. Urine Test 3. Blood Test 4. Eye Vision (with glasses if we use) 5. Height and Weight 6. General Check by the Physician (Ear/Throat/Neck/Back/Ankles/Breathing Check with Stethoscope) etc. 7. Questions were asked-Whether suffering from any ailment/any surgery done/any history of Hypertension/Diabetes) etc. We were through in 1+ hour but because the main Doctor (who is also a Pediatrician) was extremely busy (with Mothers and infants), we were held up for an extra 2 + hours --so total it took 3.5 hours!. Must say were relieved after the visit. The cost was 695/- AED each Adult with 120/- AED as courier charge (which can be paid by Cash/Credit Card). The processing will be done in 5-7 days and will be forwarded through T N T. Hope the above information is helpful to relevant members. Best Wishes, Bestpal No X-rays ?

Thanks Sterileinjection for your kind wishes.
I am still yet to receive my PPs but reading other posts on this forum, I understand that Aramex are to contact the main applicant (the cell number should have been provided to them from CIC Ldn) and arrange an address whereby the parcel can be delivered.
Alternatively - I have also read that people who have not received anything from Aramex after the status has changed to DM, have contacted Aramex and followed up by giving their cell number. I personally have not tried this as my status only changed yesterday, so hence, I will wait at least a few more days before doing so.
Depending on the time elapsed from DM status change to receiving PP's, if more than a week then, I would suggest you call Aramex and follow up with them.
All the best.

Hi guys!
Good day!
Please advise me, I am going to ABUDHABI for my visa stamping on Thursday. Now, my fiancee and I are planning to get married here in Dubai before going to Canada. In my application my status is single. Do you think It would affect my application under LIVE IN CAREGIVER PROGRAM.
Hoping for your reply.

Sorry for repeating the same post again.
I would really appreciate the response from all forum members....
Hi to everyone,
I am a pre Feb-2008 applicant who is still waiting for 2nd AOR. I came to know about the following news on the CIC Website.
Can anyone from pre Feb-2008 applicants share if their status have been updated online or not?
I would appreciate if other members including seniors would give some hope regarding this matter.
Best regards,
Quote from CIC Wibsite is as follows:
"News Release – Government of Canada transforms economic immigration program
Ottawa, March 30, 2012 — To create a fast and flexible immigration system that creates jobs and promotes Canada's long term prosperity, the Government of Canada will eliminate the backlog in the main federal economic immigration program.
"“The Federal Skilled Worker Program backlog is a major roadblock to Canada's ability to respond to rapidly changing labour market needs,”" said Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney. "“Having to process applications that are as many as eight years out of date reduces our ability to focus on new applicants with skills and talents that our economy needs today.”"
As announced in Economic Action Plan 2012, Citizenship and Immigration Canada is planning to refund fees and return stale applications from nearly all those applicants who applied under the dated criteria in existence before February 27, 2008.
CIC is transforming its suite of economic immigration programs to create a just-in-time system that recruits people with the right skills to meet Canada's labour market needs, fast tracks their immigration, and gets them working in a period of months, not years. Eliminating the longstanding backlog of FSW applications will allow the Department to focus resources on facilitating the arrival of skilled immigrants who apply under the current eligibility criteria.
Under proposed legislation, CIC will close the files of FSW applicants who applied before February 27, 2008, and for whom an immigration officer has not made a decision based on selection criteria by March 29, 2012. This is expected to affect around 280,000 applicants, including their dependants. CIC will begin the process of returning the full amount of fees paid to the Department by these affected FSW applicants. For those who have passed the selection criteria stage – approximately 20,000 people – CIC will continue processing their applications until they are approved for entry into Canada or not.
Over the last decade, the number of FSW applications received has greatly exceeded the space available within the Immigration Levels Plan each year, resulting in long processing times and an increasing inventory. Under the 2008 Action Plan for Faster Immigration, CIC began to limit intake to priority occupations. The Department added caps to the number of new applications in 2010. As a result of these efforts, CIC has reduced the pre-2008 backlog by more than 50 percent, and the overall FSW inventory by over 25 percent. However, without further action, some FSW applicants might have to wait until 2017 for a decision.
"“It's unreasonable to keep applicants waiting for another five years,”" said Minister Kenney. "“It's also a far cry from the nimble and responsive immigration system Canada needs to remain a destination of choice.”"
