Have you mentioned your previous travel details to canada on the application?
I think for visa stamping you just need to send your current passport.

Congratulations Jassig and Jaffar Mehdi, All the best for the new journey to Canada.

I was driving in Dubai last night and saw an Aramex truck and thought to myself, "Harshanimrani's passports and COPR are probably in there", so any news???

Also guys, I was looking to book my flights to Vancouver, I'm travelling on the 5th of Jan 2012. The BA flight I'm looking at has 2 options, one that lands in Heathrow at 14:00 (preferred) and leaves for Vancouver at 16:55 and the other which lands in Heathrow at 06:35 and leaves again at 16:55.

Do you think the first option is ok? It is almost 3 hours between the connecting flight, the other is over 10 hours? I'd really like you opinions! Also, would I need a UK transit visa for this flight? Thanks in advance everyone.

hi

yes the first option is good. if ur travelling all in BA, u need not even change the terminal in UK. u will land in terminal 5 and ur next flight will also be from terminal 5. For UK transit No need of any visa.

u can also try and check for the fares in Lufthansa. (i fly ed from Vancouver to Dubai in tht airline) transit will be in Frankfurt (Germany) or KLM.
Only if u transit in US airports u need a US transit visa.

Hi Windy
You wont need a Transit visa in UK (You might have needed one if it were US)
If I were in your place I would prefer the 3 hrs transit.. Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley (I have no experience of Heathrow airport though)

Thanks Biju and Soby!

I guess I'll go ahead and book BA for the 3 hour transit then. I did check the Lufthansa timings as well but they are slightly more expensive and have longer transits as well.

Other than this the people at CIIP gave me an email address to contact for the RBC bank and they got back to me and sent all the forms required to open a bank account. However, they need some of the things to be witnessed by a Canadian lawyer, if there are a lot of these then it may work out to be expensive. I'll go through the details and let you know. If it ends up being too expensive then I guess it's better to just take a bank draft and open a Scotia account in Canada directly.
