I am planning to land on 26 June 2011 with my family. We are five and I am carrying with me $26000 in cash. I am also carrying my bank statement for the last year from Sep 2010. to June 2011 (from Riyadh Bank in Saudi Arabia), showing the salary transfer to my bank account in Saudi Riayals around 17500 monthly. Also I am carrying with me the receipt showing transferring the money from Saudi Riyals into US Dollars from exchange office located in Alkabor. Do you think this sufficient to pass the immigration officer without questioning?
Ameer
Hi Ameer, I too carried cash physically with me and declared it at the point of entry at Canada. No questions or verification done. But, on our return via London, we had to deal with the customs authorities in-transit as we were bringing back the same cash with us. They asked us to prove the source of funds and any receipts. Luckily, I was carrying original receipts from UAE Exchange. They say that if they search our bags and find more cash than we inform them or if they are not satisfied with the proofs, they will confiscate our cash and we can challenge it in London Court. So, better carry proofs. Bonjour Canada

Hi Hani,
If you have emirates id with you, then you can also apply online (dubaipolice.gov.ae). In this case there is no need for arabic translation, no need to visit typing center. You can pay online and the certificate will be delivered by empost. The processing time is usually 5-6 days.
Thanks,
Rishi
Do i need to submit a scanned copy of my emirates id online? What abt the tenancy contract from dubai (my visa is from ajman)? Thanks

Yes scanned copy of passport, emirates id and other required docs need to upload along with the online application request. I believe there will be no as such issues if your visa is from Ajman or any other emirates. As the application is processed by the CID department, which is interconnected with all emirates. Also, if you are submitting your application with emirates id through online, you don't have to undergo the finger print scanning, as they already have all your information. Hope the above information will be sufficient for you.
